There are some great pubs in Sydney with great food and some awesome beers and wines to choose from. The Pub of the Month for November is The Australian Hotel in the Rocks. Located right in the heart of the city this pub has a great choice of beers and servers fantastic food including great pizza. Try the Tandoori chicken pizza. Delicious!

Top Ten Things to do in Sydney1. Take a harbour cruise on Sydney Harbour. There are a number of cruise companies with cruises included lunch or dinner. Check out our Sydney Harbour page for more details. 2. Visit the Rocks to see some of the original buildings the first settlers to Australia constructed. Check out the weekend markets or have a meal at many of the restaurants located in the Rocks. The Rocks also has some of Sydney's oldest pubs to wet your whistle. www.therocks.com 3. See a show at the Sydney Opera House. Erected in 1974, the Sydney Opera House is recognised around the world. The entertainment is not just limited to Opera! A variety of entertainment is performed at the Sydney Opera House including Ballet, comedians, cultural shows. For up coming performances see their website www.sydneyoperahouse.com. There are plenty of restaurants and bars on the foreshore of the harbour for dinner and drinks before and after the show. 4. Visit Taronga Zoo. Taronga is one of the best zoo's in the world and the new Asian Elephant enclosure is fantastic with a new baby elephant with a few more on the way. www.taronga.org.au 5. Lunch or Dinner in Chinatown. Sydney's Chinatown has a selection of some of the best Asian restaurants in Sydney. Chinese, Japanese, Taiwanese, Korean, Thai. 6. A night of music and dinner at The Basement. The Basement is one of the premiere music venues located in the heart of Sydney's CBD close to circular quay. See our Sydney Harbour page for more details. 10. Take a day trip by bus to the magical Blue Mountains. Visit the 3 Sisters rock formations or take a ride on an old steam train down the zig zag railway. Top Ten Cheap Things to Do in Sydney 1. If you can't afford one of the expensive Sydney Harbour Cruises then take one of the inexpensive ferries. A return trip from Circular Quay to Manly costs $6.40 for adults or $3.20 for children. 2. Take a swim at the beach. Sydney has some of the best beaches in the world and they are FREE. The larger beaches are all service well by public transport. Take a packed lunch for a picnic on Manly, Bondi or Coogee Beach. Don't forget your sunscreen. 3. Bondi to Bronte foreshore walk. The walk, 2.5kms long, takes in some great views over the ocean. 4. Enjoy some free entertainment with watching the buskers at Circular Quay. A variety of performers entertain all along the front of the ferry terminals and the park in front of the Museum of Contemporary Art.
5. Entrance to the Maritime Museum is the price that all museums should be - FREE. With a great collection of Australia's naval and sea faring heritage on display including information about the first fleet and the Endeavour which Captain sailed to discover Australia. 6. The Spit to Manly walk - yes more - walking and it is FREE. A great walk along the foreshore of the harbour and through some National Park land. 7. It costs a fortune to go to the movies but what about a free film? How about lots of free films all the in the one day? Tropfest - Sydney's short film festival is being held on Sunday 21st February 2010 at The Domain Sydney. Gates Open 12 noon. Cost is FREE. 8. If you don't have the $180 to do the Sydney Harbour Bridge climb then you can still walk across the Harbour Bridge along the pedestrian walkway FREE. You still get great views from the walkway. You can also climb the first Pylon Lookout (closest to the city) which has great views of the harbour and city. Adult price $9.80, children $4, pensioners $6.50, children under 7 FREE.
9. Have a picnic in the Royal Botanical Gardens. There plenty of nice spots with great views of the harbour. 10. People watching. Now this may only appeal to the voyeurs though people watching can be lots of fun and is totally free. There are plenty of good spots of this like Martin Place, the steps of Town Hall, Darling Harbour or places like Manly Beach or Bondi Beach.
