There are plenty of music venues in Sydney to suit all tastes in music.

 

Sessions at the Deck, Luna Park is an excellent way to spend a Sunday chilling out with your friends overlooking Sydney Harbour. From 3pm - 10pm every Sunday some of the best of Sydney's DJs pump out some great tunes. Entry is $5 which includes a beer or glass of wine.

Twilight Concerts at Taronga Zoo all through Feb and March there are concerts being held within Taronga Zoo. Performances include Bjorn Again, Choir of Hope and Inspiration, Neil Diamond, Australian Chamber Orchestra, James Morrison and Lucy Holmes performing Kylie Minogue hits.

Marble Bar Hilton Hotel at 488 George St Sydney has live music Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. Performers fro February 2010 include Brown Sugar, Radio City Cats and Funkstar.

Classical Music Concerts

Sydney Symphony has various performances planned for 2010 including performances with Nigel Kennedy and performances in the Sydney Opera House.

Australian Chamber Orchestra are performing Tognetti's Mozart Saturday 13th, Tuesday 16th and Wednesday 17th February 2010 at the City Recital Hall Angel Place Sydney. Also at the Sydney Opera House on Sunday 21st February 2010.

Country and Western Music

Rooty Hill RSL CLub has a Free Country Music Night every Thursday evening from 8pm. Country and Music artists include Adam Harvey, Dianna Cocoran, Travis Collins and Jonah's Road.

The Cat and the Fiddle Pub at Balmain - 456 Darling St, has live music 6 nights a week and Sunday afternoons. Performances range from Rock and Roll to Country and Western.

Whitney Houston is touring Australia in February 2010 including a special concert at Hope Estate in the Hunter Valley.

The James Morrison Orchestra starring James Morrison performing with special guests Doug Parkinson, Monica Trapaga and Tiara Saturday 6th February 2010 at the State Theatre. Tickets only available from Ticketmaster

The Back Street Boys are coming back to Sydney for a concert at the Sydney Entertainment Centre 6th March 2010. Tickets available from Ticketmaster

Upcoming Music Festivals in Sydney

Good Vibrations Festival - Centennial Park Sydney - 13th February 2010. A huge music festival featuring Basement Jaxx, Armand Van Helden, Gossip, Busta Rymes, Friendly Fires, Salt-n-Pepper, S-Trip and many more top DJs. 2 after parties have been announced for after Good Vibrations. Dave Seaman will play a 4 hour set at the Chinese Laundry on Sussex St in the city as well as with Chuckie, Craze, Club Junque and Jeff Drake. Starts at 8pm and entrance to the club will be $30. The other after party will be at Ivy Bar at 330 George St, with Spinderella, Sam Obernik and Slimkid3.

Soundwave 2010 - 21st February - Eastern Creek Raceway featuring Faith No More, My Chemical Romance, Janes Addiction, AFI and Placebo.

Harbour '10 is part of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Grase. Held on Sunday 28th February 2010 3pm - 11pm at Mrs Macquarie Point with views of the Sydney Harbour, Bridge and Opera House. DJ's include Paul Gooyear, Paul Heron, Wayne G, Jason Barry and Kitty Glitter.

Future Music Festival '10 with bands including The Prodigy, Empire of the Sun, John Dig Weed, David Guetta and more. Saturday 6th March 2010 at Randwick Race Course.
